Photography workshops at FHL: DOUBLE FUN-SHOOT WEEKEND

The Alcove ends its photography season this November with a double fun-shoot weekend that promises to bring excitement twice over—a treat to photography enthusiasts.

Scheduled on November 21 and 22, the fun shoots will take the participants from the enthralling Enchanted Kingdom to the busy streets of Binondo.

To show our appreciation to The Alcove’s photography workshop participants, we will be extending a 50 percent discount to previous and present workshop participants (regular workshops and Fun Shoot Series only).  For non-Alcove participants who wish to join both fun shoots will be given a Php500 discount.  Discounts apply if the nonrefundable joining fees are paid in full on or before November 7.

We look forward to spending a weekend of shooting and having fun with you!

FUN SHOOT SERIES | Photographing Street Culture in Binondo
with Jay Alonzo November 22, 2009 (1:00-6:00p.m.)Across the Pasig River from Intramuros is the Binondo area, home of Chinatown. The district is filled with all things Chinese from Peking duck and Buddhist temples to gold watches, snake soup, and wonder herbs.  Even before Miguel Lopez de Legazpi established the city of Manila in 1571, Binondo had been a bustling center of trade with the Chinese.
Binondo/Chinatown still continues to surprise everyone who pays the place a visit. Teeming with people doing an assortment of day-to-day activities, Binondo’s streets are rich with images waiting to be captured digitally or on film.

A short lecture before the trip will be conducted by Jay Alonzo to discuss the basics of street photography.
